Happy New Year! I know & believe this year, 2026 is going to be the best year yet! It’s my heart to take you through a painting as the first blog of the year! Enjoy reading & may it inspire you too!

I first and for most put my worship music on. Haven't done that in a while? Try turning one on now. One of favorites is "Raise a Hallelujah" by Bethel music (which is on right now as I'm typing this!)  After worshiping the Lord for as long as I want, I grab what I have on hand as I did with this painting.

I grabbed an 24x16 panel canvas. I grabbed my oil paint set that my family gifted me for Christmas & as I am worshiping the Lord, its on my heart to grab my favorites, BLUE! I used "ultramarine Blue" and "Phthalo Blue". I also grabbed "Titanium white". I put it all onto a paper plate & grabbed my flat brush. I didn't have any shape or design on my mind; I just wanted to take that brush with Ultramarine & a little paint thinner to that canvas.  I brushed back & forth a a handful of times & came out with a design.

After taking those three colors in and out in the canvas I had something that was fun & beautiful.  I grabbed more white and went along the edges of some of the blues. As soon below:

When I took that white along those lines, I knew I wanted to add my next favorite, “Gold”.  Acrylic paint.  I then started their own lines, while crossing them over the white.   (I absolutely enjoying using Gold in as many paintings as a can.)

Worship music still on! So, lets add more Gold shall we? I watered down the acrylic gold a bit.  While I rubbed a #12 brush in it, I took my largest brush on hand and splattered it across the canvas.  This was so much fun! Yes, painting is so fun to me!  The way it dropped on the painting (myself a little too), was beautiful.  I believed that was my finishing touch.

I grabbed my thin brush & signed in gold to complete, “Keep Going”!

I hope you enjoyed taking the time to go through “Keep Going” with me.  Its always fun!  May you continue to look out for more blogs.  You can make purchases at danielle-emrick.com anytime or email for a free consultation on creating your own painting.

Have fun,
